Fox Chapel Hockey Charity Game raises over $2,000
On January 6, 2013, the Fox Chapel Varsity/Alumni Hockey Team hosted the Pittsburgh Icemen (City of Pittsburgh Policy Hockey Team) in a charity game for the benefit of the Sandy Hook Elementary School Support Fund. The Charity Game raised over $2,000 and was played before over 100 fans and supporters with Fox Chapel outlasting the Icemen for the win.
History of the Fox Chapel Hockey Logo
In their inaugural season of 1972-73, the Fox Chapel Varsity jerseys displayed the original team logo of a "standing fox". This logo remained until the 1979-80 season, at which point it was replaced by the block lettering "Fox Chapel Hockey". This logo was used until the 1985-86 season, whereupon the "standing fox" jerseys were brought back for two more years. In the 1988-89 season, the "striding fox" logo, pictured here, was adopted by the Club and remained the team logo for the next nine years. In 1997, the Club introduced the diagonal block lettering "Fox Chapel" which was used through the 2010-11 season. The current Fox Chapel Hockey logo was designed by FCHC alumnus Charlie McMunn for the 2011-12 team jerseys and remains the Club logo to date.
